Question for Manchester City fans about James Milner?

I'm a Aston Villa fan and i'm wondering has James Milner had the same impact at City as he had a Villa. At villa he looked one of the best players of his generation, watching him week in week out, he was amazing in the middle of park. Every game he would cover so much ground and his scoring ability was second to none. One of the best midfield's in Britain, he helped us to both 6th and 2 wembley appearances pretty much by himself. I'm wondering has had the same impact at Manchester City as he had a villa where he was played in the middle of the park?? And why does Mancini always seem to play him on the wing?
